A Study on the Perception about Health Management of Workers on 4 Confectionery Industries in Seoul

Abstract
This was conducted in order to grasp the condition of worker¢¥s perception about health management.
And to offer the basic materials for health management in industry.
The objects were comprised volunteered workers who work in 4 confectionery industries.
The material of this study was the questionnaire suited to the purposed of this research which has been made by community health nursing academy.
All the questionnaire written by workers.
The self reported questionnaires were collected immediately without explanation.
The data was collected from 8th to 29th of Dec. on 1992. Analysis of the data was done utilizing SPSS for percentage, mean, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficients and Multiple Regression.
The Results are as follows;
1. General features of the objects of study.
Worker¢¥s place of employment distribution was not similar. Productive job workers were the highest (92.2 %), mean of age was 24.1, female were the highest (81.3 %), nonmarried persons were the highest (82.4 %).
School grade distribution was not similar.
High School graduated persons were the highest (89.7 %), mean of career was 54.3 months, mean of monthly income was 455 thousand-won.
2. The condition of perception about health management.
Highly aged group may have more perception on health management than low aged group (F= 5.19, P <.01).
Male group may have more perception on health management than female group (t= 3.85,P<.01).
Married group may have more perception on health management than non-married
group (t= 3.25, P <.01).
High-careered group may have more perception on health management than low-careered group (F= 7.96, P < .01).
High income group may have more perception on health management than low income group (F= 9.50, P <.00).
3. The Condition-of perception about health management in section.
University graduated group were the highest perception in health examine section (F= 3.05, P <.05).
High aged group were the highest perception in environmental manage section (F= 3.67, P < .05).
Male group were the highest perception in environmental manage section (t= 4.00, P < .00).
Married group were the highest perception in environmental manage section (t= 2.96, P <.01).
High careered group were the highest perception in environmental manage section (F=10.50, P <.00).
High income group were the highest perception in environmental manage section (F= 10.82, P < .00).
High aged group were the highest perception in health educate section (F= 3.82, P < .05).
Female group were the highest perception in health educate section (t= 2.01, P < .05). Non-married group were the highest perception in health educate section (t= 1.95, P < .05).
High income group were the highest perception in health educate section (F= 3.62, P <.05).
4. The Condition of perception about health management in item.
When 5 point was given to "Always do" and 1 point was given to "Never do", the total average was 3.29.
The mean of health examine item was shown 3.34.
The mean of environmental manage item was shown 3.53.
The mean of health educate item was shown 3.00.
5. Correlation among variables.
Environmental manage section and health examine section showed affirmative correlation (r= .24, P <.05).
Health educate section and health examine section showed affirmative correlation (r=.25,P<.05).
Health educate section and environment manage section showed affirmative correlation (r= .54, P < .00).
6. Correlation among multivariables.
16.8 % of Health management perception explained with the career proved highest correlation with Health management perception, 4.4 % of Health management perception explained with the income proved highest correlation with Health management perception.
As the above, 21.2 % of Health management perception could be explained with the general characteristics (F= 9.94, P < .00).
